Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted a sister. I love my brothers, but there is something only a sister can give. It took some searching, but during the summer before my freshman year of high school, my heart found its first soul sister, my forever bestie. We bonded that summer of crazy, a look swimming between us that first day. Then and there, my soul knew we would be sisters.
I technically met Marissa in seventh grade. Well, I was paid to follow her! LOL! I wish I was kidding. Marissa was new on our team (group of teachers). A guy I knew had a crush on her and paid me $2 and “Bob the Builder” stickers to peek in on her during study hall and write down things she liked to do so he could ask her out. It’s so funny now. But we really bounded a couple of years later.
We have been through so much: driving in the snow for the first time, local trips, prom, relationships, shows, Disney World, girl trips, band and choir, movies, and more.
Missa has been apart of my life, never leaving my side. We can be different sometimes, but we always love and support each other. She accepts me fully and I love her entirely. We already plan to live together when we get older! 😉 A bestie will never let you down and I am blessed to have some incredible people in my life, especially my fellow angel. CAR! 😀
It is my great honor to present my second Behind-The-Scenes with my BFF Interview with our guest, the beautiful, smart, darling, funny, and dazzling now and forevermore, Marissa Sifford, my Missa Boo! 😀
Marissa’s Responses:
- What are three of your favorite memories of us together? Wedding dress shopping, botanical garden trip, and 20s play in high school.
Morgan side note: “All our high-jinxs were so fun, such as drives to the park, eating sandwiches at your place and all the movies and shows, my 21st birthday you threw for me (ha…), and our girls trip to Disney World with Cat too. I am glad we can go anywhere and have an amazing time. Being there the first time you drove in ice wasn’t really ‘fun,’ but it sure was a memory. LOL!”
2. Name two phrases that only you and I would get as besties. Orlando Bloom and BABIES.
Morgan side note: “I personally love CAR too; Charlie’s Angels Rule! You’ll always be the Camren to my Lucy. ;)”
3. If you could work beside any superhero, who would it be? If you had powers too, what would they be? Wonder woman. I would want to be able to fly or have super speed.
4. One day, I am going to take you to a convention with me! Who are we going to dress up as (cosplay)? Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, or Jean Grey and Rogue, or Sailor Moon and Venus.
Morgan side note: “Fun fact: Missa was who I originally called Sailor Venus, since she represented love and beauty to me (and she was blonde, ha). But, Venus is MY favorite and main cosplay… Hmmm…not sure who will be her now, lol? ^_- But, I can’t wait until we get to go together.”
5. What is the weirdest food you have ever eaten/tried?
Squid sushi
6. Which book/movie/TV couple inspires you?
Allie and Noah from “The Notebook.” They came from different worlds and made it work through all their differences.
7. What kind of villain would you be if you were wickedly evil like a Disney baddie?
A crazy lady who would be like cupid but take it further. Make the people go crazy obsessive and destroy each other. o.0
8. Why do you love cats so much?
They are cute and love to cuddle as much as I do. I love how they purr when they are happy.
9. Tell us a little bit about the writing you are working on?
I’m working on a fiction story of long lost love. two people who loved each other when young. Separated by life. Then find each other when they least expect it.
10. How have you and Morgan helped each other in your lives?
Been there for each other by giving advice or letting the other person talk when needed.
Questions Marissa Asked Me:
1. What would be your perfect day? Plan it out from waking up to bedtime.
What a fun question! =D
Well, I would wake up around 6:30, take my medicine, do a workout, then eat breakfast.
Around 7:15, I’d take a walk, then shower, and do my skin treatment I like so much. I’ll treat myself to my favorite milk tea after my shower.
It’d be around 8:45 now. I would love to spend it reading some on a regular book then a manga, covered up, heating pad, and my sweet kitty on me.
If I have a video game at the time, I would probably play that for an hour or 90 minutes.
After this, I would love to watch a movie or show while I write on my Chromebook.
Next, lunch, probably treat myself to some of my favorite yum yum noodles.
The afternoon would consist I hope of spending time with friends and/or family, maybe a game afternoon or hanging out somewhere (pre-covid of course).
I would end the evening with hanging with Derrick and Socks, maybe reading more of my books if not too tired.
I don’t get to relax fully that often, lol.
2. What is your favorite item you own? Why?
If I HAD to pick one physical item, it would be my stuffed animal Simba I have had since I was four. He has been my companion and helped me through many tough times in life and witnessed milestones of mine. Plus, he’s from my favorite movie!
3. What is your all time favorite memory?
I have too many to count! Any time I can spend with those I love is precious.
4. What book has impacted you the most?
The books by Lurlene McDaniel. Her books give hope even in the bleakest of situations.
5. What would be your dream vacation and why?
Easy peasy! JAPAN! This land has given me so much, introducing me to countless friends, events, and treasures. Their culture is so beautiful with how they adore their ancient history and blend it with the modern invitations. How everything is respectful, creative, or cute. It truly is a wonder I would love to explore.
6. If you could time travel where would you go?
The Victorian Era. It was classy and elegant, but things were starting to move. Plus, it had the basic tech I feel I would need, like light bulbs, the automobile, and ice boxes, ha! Tea time would be a delight I know I would enjoy too.
7. What is your favorite plant or flower?
The cherry blossom OR sakura, Japan’s national flower. It smells heavenly and I love how it almost glows on top of inspiring poets for centuries. I also love orange roses and a lot of other flowers.
8. If money was no object. What would you buy?
I would first get us a nice house and each of us a new car and pay them off, lol! In addition to pay off my medical bills. I want to make sure we had enough to live on comfortably and give what I could to charity. If I was going to spoil myself, I would go to Japan. ^_^ I would also like to take care of my parents and treat my loved ones too if possible. IF there were anything left, I would save for some nerdy fun or, to quote my grandma, a rainy day.
9. What do you do when no one is around?
Get anxiety, ha! I try to relax and write. I like to walk; it calms me and inspires me.
10. What is your most hated chore and why?
Cleaning the bathroom! Gross! Plus it’s a lot of bending. I feel old!
11. If you could be any animal, what would you be?
Maybe a cat, but a friendly one. I could take care of myself, but still be cute and cuddly. At least, I hope. HA!
12. What made you become a writer?
I have also had an overactive imagination. It gives me great joy to write my ideas and characters down and have others enjoy their adventures or connect to them in some manner.
Growing up, I was shy, so much so that I was scared I was taking someone’s air space. When spoken words failed me, written words helped me express those feelings and also ones that were foreign to me, such as sorrow, loneliness, or anger. My words are my comfort, my outlet, my friends. They mean a lot to me and to those who support my stories and works, thank you.
