Top Ten Anime Based on Dating/Visual Novel Video Games (Top Ten #129:)

Posted on March 12, 2023January 25, 2023 by Morgan

Japan has so many fantastic, unique aspects to their culture. That’s with modern entertainment too! And everyone loves video games. So, why not combine them with choosing your own adventures and romance?! YES! There are a couple of different genres for this concept:

Otome (which means ‘maiden’) games are storybook based games where you are a random female in the story and YOUR answers to questions between a handful of male leads (all good looking and different personalities) affect the narrative AND, most important, who you can get romantically involved with. 😉

Bishoujo/Galge (Bishoujo means ‘pretty girl’) is the same concept, but where you are a MALE avatar and your choices affect the story, where you have many FEMALES to woo or befriend.

Several of them have been turned into mangas and animes/OVAs.

So, yes! I had to rank them! ^_- I am basing my numbers how good the anime was though AS a story and for the characters. I am not trying to romance anyone. LOL!

Doki, Doki Literature Club, you’re awesome, but eat your heart out! Japan has been doing it since the 1980’s! Let’s see which animes are my favorite from these clever genres.
