Creative. Writer. Father. Cat Adorer. Great Friend. All these things describe the fantastic Mr. Rick Bradley in a nutshell. I met him through my Heroes for Kids family and my writing mentor and inspiration (who is his too) Mr. Brian K. Morris. He was intensely full of this compelling fire and has this energy that makes him easy and fun to talk to. He also has been so supportive of my work and him being a true fan of “The Hunter and The Bringer” means the world.
Now, please learn more about this great writer and person here! ^_^

Author-to-Author Interview: Rick Bradley:
1. Where did you grow up? “Harrisburg Illinois.“- Did your childhood have any impact on your writing? “Not a lot. I did develop my love for reading as a child though.”
2. Tell us about the first story you ever wrote, published or not.– “I don’t remember the first story I ever wrote, ha ha, but the 1st one published was ‘The Marble’ in The Nightmare Collective. It is about a boy who was dared to go into a haunted house and bring something back. He got a blue marble that was possessed by an evil demon. He tries to put it back in the house. Bloody fun ensues.“
3. What are you currently working on, writing-wise?“- Right now, book 1 of my ‘Eden Falls Trilogy: Into the Maw of Madness.'”
4. What is your favorite character you have ever created and why?- “I had a Dwarven Cleric back in 2nd edition D&D and he was a blast to play. I got to be surly and still be protective over my companions.”
5. Do you have to write in order or do your ideas just come to you and you put them in order later?- “My ideas come to me and I put things in order later in my head, but I write the ideas in order.”
6. What was your path like until you found writing?- “Mainly work, gaming, painting little miniatures.”
7. How is your relationship with your publishing company/platform?- “So far my relationship is good with everyone who has published any of my stories. I’ve been blessed with some amazing friends.”
8. Tell us about your covers. “The cover for Marvin’s Night Out was made for me by a friend who just had a snippet of what the story was about, but she had a good idea for a great cover. There’s a road and some definitely haunted trees and that’s pulled right from the book.”
9. What inspires you to write?- “I have stories I want to tell and when I can make my imposter syndrome back down I get those stories out.”
10. How do you get book reviews?- “I don’t really get many, but I tell everyone who reads my book to give me an honest review. The only way I can get better is to know what I’m doing wrong.”
11. What is harder: writing, editing, or marketing?- “All of those definitely have their hardships, but I’d say marketing. It’s like a full-time job that requires overtime.”
12. If you could publish every book idea you’ve ever had, how many books would you have out right now?- “Hundreds!”
13. Have you ever considered co-writing a book or series with another author?- “I would do it depending on the author. I guess if Stephen King really wanted to I would, after I got picked up off the floor and reassured it was real.”
14. What do you do to relax?- “Read, play video games, love on my cats.”
15. If you could tell your 14-year-old self one thing, what would it be?- “You should be more confident in yourself. You do a lot of things you don’t think you can do right now.”
16. What advice would you have for this upcoming generation?- “Question everything and seek out answers.”
17. Have you ever read a book that changed your outlook on life?- “In all honesty not really. I’ve read so many different books over the years that if any of them changed my outlook it didn’t last long.”
18. Do you have a classic piece of literature or a classic author you are fond of?- “I’m a big fan of Lovecraft’s writing and the words he created. How about one that is overrated? I can’t think of one at the moment.”
19. Is there any music that gets your writing juices flowing?- “Just about any music can get my creative juices flowing. ‘For Marvin’s Night Out,’ Slipknot’s album We Are Not Your Kind fueled much of the imagery.”
20. If you could pick three people who are your heroes or role models, who would they be and why?- “My parents, they showed me what sacrifice and strength is and I have them to thank for so much. And my good friend Brian K Morris. He can get me revved up and believing in myself like few others can. He’s a lifesaver when I have questions or doubts.”
21. Dog or cat person?- “I love both, but mainly a cat person.”
22. What do you want to eat right now?– “I’d be fine with BBQ and a baked potato or Chicken Fried Rice.”
23. If you could be in any movie that has already been made, which one would it be?- “‘The Goonies.'”
24. What is your favorite holiday or time of year?- “I love Halloween and the Fall. It’s the perfect weather.”
25. Anything else you would like to add?– “Thank you for choosing me to interview!”
