A new school year is starting; year ten for me, baby! So I wanted to focus on the gift of seeing my little ducklings learning to read more each day, expand their worlds, by sharing my favorite books and series from my elementary and intermediate days.
Without these books showing me the joys of opening a portal to new lands through pages, I would not be a writer.
When I was in the 2nd and 3rd grade, I had to go to special reading classes once a week. But everyone was so kind and made everything fun that I didn’t realize to years later I was there because I was ‘behind’ in reading. It just showed me the joy of words. And I am so glad I can give that back now with my kiddos.
