Publishing Companies I Work With:
Paper Crane Books:
In 2013, my first book, “Spirit Vision,” was published through Paper Crane Books. My “Spirit Vision” series and first two collections, “A Sweet, Little Dream” and “Fallen Star Dust” are published through them. The books published with this label are Young Adult in content. This place and the wonderful person behind it mean the world to me.
You can still look at all of Sheenah’s fabulous services on Paper Crane’s website.
‘What if…’ Publishing:
In 2018, I decided to go a different route and write my first more mature content book, it being new adult/college (the audience 17+ years in age due to language, violence, and other mature content). Being a teacher, I make sure to warn readers and potential buyers of this. So, I wanted to branch out and make my own label for this, a branding for my more ‘adult’ works. That is where ‘What if…’ Publishing came into play!
If you see one of my books with this sticker, it is 17+, but know I am just as proud of these characters as my beloved YA works. I can’t believe, in a way, I have my own label and piece of a company! HA! My lovely publisher, Sheenah, made this logo for me. It is based on the quote I have on all my business cards, that inspires me.
But, where did this quote come from? Well, a huge inspiration for my first book/series, “Spirit Vision,” was the game “Sonic Adventure 2,” one of my favorite Gamecube games of all time. The main title song, “Live and Learn,” has a line that goes: “There’s a place searching far, so far and wide. There’s a place that you dreamed you’d never find. Hold on to what if. Hold on to what if…” I take this line to heart in all I do. Without it, I would not be where I am today. 🙂
