So, choir was my special extracurricular in high school, my one passion other than working hard for my future and seeing my friends. I always like singing, although I was shy, and I could memorize things to music easily (yet, I am not the best at reading music or playing an instrument). I had lovely choral directors, especially Mrs. Bauche, my high school music momma that changed all of our lives, calling us her babies. Choir also allowed me to meet Derrick and several of my closest friends to this day. So, music is important to me, and, ironic to my timid nature, I love to act. The stage, costumes, doing voices, using my imagination, being someone else to pull others into another story in their seats: this screams me in so many ways! So, with these two loves, why not love musicals?! I am stunned I haven’t done this as a top ten before, but probably it was because it was so hard to choose!
I only included musical movies that are classified as musicals OR if I have seen them on stage. I am not including animated other than Lion King and Beauty and the Beast because I saw those on stage. And when I see Anastasia someday, I am sure it will be added! 😀
