HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! 
Thank you guys for celebrating it with me, first off, and supporting me. ^_^
My birthday is one of my favorite times of the year. My parents were so kind to me growing up, treating me like a princess for the whole month of November with all the fanfare of cake, gifts, attention, and love. I try to make sure everyone is treated special for the day their light first shone in the world. 
I had many birthdays when I was younger where I was surrounded by my heroes, The Power Rangers! This team of ‘teenagers with attitude’ shaped me into the good citizen I am today and was my entry into the stunning world of Japanese culture, unbeknownst to preschool me. Everything I owned from preschool to 4th grade was Disney (especially Lion King), Barbie/dolls, and Power Rangers. I rediscovered it in high school and the flame of my love for them ignites brighter and hotter each day.
What I loved about this show other than colorful superheroes, funny monsters, role models for all generations, and a surprisingly reverting story at times for a kids show, is the empowerment. For the early 90’s, being barely in school, this was my first exposure to female superheroes. The fact that the girls were just as strong, resourceful, kind, and amazing as the boys, all of the rangers clearly important and equal, really helped instill values in me. And I pass these skills on to my students. Plus, they look SO COOL!!!!
So, for my special day, I want to honor these beautiful protectors of Earth that I hope to join their ranks one day. So, let’s call our Zords with the nice stereos and do some good while looking kick-butt and fabulous. Say it with me: “IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!”
